**Overview of the Role**

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Lead to join our team at Tetra Tech in Thunder Bay, ON. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development of mechanical designs and specifications for various projects.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Lead the development of mechanical designs and specifications for industrial processes, including fluid pumping and piping, solid and bulk material handling, and general machine design.
  2. Coordinate with multidiscipline designer teams to review and develop 3D models and 2D drawings.
  3. Develop or provide input to project scope definition, execution methodology, planning, and resource requirements.
  4. Participate in process flow diagram (PFD) and piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) development.
  5. Ensure that all designs meet local codes, standards, and AHJ requirements.
  6. Collaborate with project management teams to ensure timely completion of projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Current practicing registration as Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers of Ontario, or eligibility for practicing registration.
  • Working knowledge of 3D and 2D CAD software and related workflows for products similar to AutoCAD, CADWorx, Plant 3D, Revit, etc.
  • Additional software experience including FEA, hydraulic, and energy modeling software, SolidWorks, Inventor, Caesar, AFT Fathom, Belt Stat, HAP, etc. are considered an asset.
