We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our Purchasing Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the procurement of materials and services with a focus on our commodity buying programs. Your previous experience in procurement, with an emphasis on cost, quality, and delivery, will be essential in this role. You will report directly to the Purchasing Manager. Your responsibilities will include creating Request for Quotations (RFQs), analyzing vendor quotations, and recommending sourcing. You will also develop new sources of supply, schedule vendor visits, and report on pricing, cost trends, and vendor lead time changes. Additionally, you will ensure the proper preparation of purchase orders and support the Inside Sales Department. You will also follow up and expedite deliveries of shipments as required. To succeed in this role, you will need a Secondary School Diploma and relevant post-secondary education in Purchasing, Logistics, or Business Administration. Experience in MRP/ERP systems and professional designation in PMAC are assets. You will also need Microsoft (Word, Excel) skills and blueprint reading experience is recommended.
