Water Treatment Plant Superintendent

Description

Aquatech Canadian Water Services Inc. is a leading provider of water and wastewater management services. We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Superintendent to join our team in Brooks, Alberta.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant, ensuring the delivery of safe and clean water to the JBS Packing Plant in accordance with Alberta Environment legislation and regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in water treatment operations, with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience. A valid Class 5 driver's license and Level II Water certifications are also required.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and operating the treatment system, including pretreatment, filtration, and chemical processes
  • Completing regular plant inspections and making operational changes as required
  • Ensuring adequate supply of water for Packing plant usage, human consumption, and firefighting
  • Preparing work orders for servicing and repair of equipment
  • Completing daily recordings and documentation, including adjustments, chemicals used, flow recordings, and compliance reporting
  • Initiating non-compliance reporting to Alberta Environment and JBS Foods
  • Assisting the Director with budget preparation and recommendations
  • Completing in-house lab analyses, sample collection, and sample submission to certified laboratories
  • Maintaining good contact and communications with JBS Packing Plant Officials
  • Meeting with Alberta Environment officials
  • Assisting with maintenance activities when required
  • Maintaining chemical supply for maintenance cleaning activities
