Culinary Team Lead

Taco Time is seeking a skilled Culinary Team Lead to oversee the preparation and presentation of our menu items. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate special events and ensure that all menu items are prepared to meet the needs of our guests.
  • Determine the size of food portions and costs to ensure that we are meeting our budget targets.
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements to ensure that we have the necessary ingredients and supplies.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to ensure that we have a steady supply of high-quality ingredients.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances to ensure that we are meeting our commitment to providing safe and healthy food options.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they are clean and well-maintained.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment to ensure that we are meeting our budget targets.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to ensure that they are clean and well-maintained.
  • Recruit and hire staff to ensure that we have the necessary personnel to meet our business needs.

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Basic security clearance.
  • Public transportation is available.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads.
  • Excellent oral communication and teamwork skills.
