Job Title: Social Program Officer Child Protection R24 Role


Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Child Protection Social Program Officer to join our team at the BC Public Service Agency. As a Child Protection Social Program Officer, you will be responsible for working with children, families, and communities to provide support and services to promote the well-being and safety of children.


Main Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement programs to support children and families with complex needs.
  • Provide individual and group support to children and families, including counseling, advocacy, and resource navigation.
  • Collaborate with community partners to develop and deliver programs that promote the well-being and safety of children.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans to ensure the protection of children.
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss complex cases and develop strategies for resolution.

Working Conditions:


This is a hybrid role, working from a shared office space and occasionally from home. The position requires a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to meetings and community events.


Required Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working in child protection or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
