Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled hairstylist to work in our busy barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a keen eye for detail when it comes to hair styling and colouring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Service: Provide exceptional customer service to clients, ensuring that they feel valued and satisfied with their experience.
  • Hairstyling and Colouring: Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair to meet client preferences and physical features.
  • Colouring Techniques: Apply bleach, dyes, tints, frosting, and streaking/highlights to achieve desired hair colours.
  • Hairstyling Techniques: Use blow drying, iron waving/curling, and other techniques to achieve desired hairstyles.
  • Supervision: Supervise other hair stylists and staff, as well as apprentices/students in training.
  • Receptionist Duties: Perform receptionist duties, including booking appointments and managing client records.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Qualities: Client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, judgement, reliability, and team player.
Work Environment

Our salon is located in an urban area, and we offer relocation costs covered by the employer. The work site environment is non-smoking, and we are not accessible by public transportation.
