Job Summary

Kinectrics is seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering I&C engineering expertise to power generation utilities and other customers.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide I&C engineering design and analysis for nuclear and other industrial plants.
  2. Develop and maintain a high level of expertise in one or more specific areas, including control instrumentation assessment/design/specification of equipment and components.
  3. Perform engineering change design and analysis following established change control procedures for conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design phases.
  4. Prepare engineering specifications, change papers, calculations, and design bill of material.
  5. Assess client problems and determine appropriate means of solution.
  6. Manage projects and act as design team lead where appropriate.
  7. Interface effectively with other staff on multi-disciplinary projects.
  8. Stay current with developments within your field of expertise.

Requirements
  1. Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical/I&C Engineering.
  2. 10+ years' experience in I&C design engineering.
  3. Proven track record in I&C design and analysis in nuclear power generation or similar highly regulated industry sectors.
  4. Strong knowledge of control system design and equipment, including control computers, PID controllers, Digital Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), etc.
  5. In-depth knowledge and experience of use of appropriate codes and standards, as applied to nuclear plant and conventional plants.
  6. Experience in project management and interfacing with and coordinating activities of multi-disciplinary teams.
  7. Familiarity with rigorous engineering change control processes and application of QA programs.
  8. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and a high commitment to quality.
  9. Professional Engineer of Ontario (PEO), or eligible for PEO status, with a passion for engineering.
  10. Innovative, enthusiastic, and ready to be part of our dynamic team.
  11. OPG and Bruce Power Security Clearance is an asset.
