Powerline Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Powerline Technician to join our Toronto Hydro Grid Response Team. As a member of this team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to effectively troubleshoot problems within the distribution system.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing maintenance and repair tasks on high voltage power lines.
• Collaborating with colleagues to identify and resolve issues within the distribution system.
• Maintaining a strong understanding of underground and overhead distribution systems.

Requirements

• A Red Seal Distribution Lineman certification (or equivalent).
• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in distribution.
• A Class 4 Rubber Glove certificate.
• A valid Class DZ driver's license (with preference for AZ).
• A current Working at Heights certification.
• Ability to live within daily driving distance of the GTA.

Assets

• Experience working with the CUSW Union would be an asset.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Previous experience working for Toronto Hydro.
• A current UWPC certification.
• Standard First Aid (CPR/AED) certification.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $95,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer competitive benefits for union members through CUSW.
