Job Summary

Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled Trauma Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our interprofessional team, you will provide psychotherapy and safety planning to clients who have experienced recent sexual assault, sexual abuse, human trafficking, or intimate partner violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual intakes and formulate treatment plans with clients who have experienced recent sexual assault, sexual abuse, human trafficking, and/or intimate partner violence.
  • Provide counseling to clients utilizing the tri-phasic model of trauma counseling and evidence-based trauma therapies.
  • Advocate for and with clients at DASA.
  • Provide community referrals to other organizations based on the formulated treatment plan for each client.
  • Provide educational presentations to community partners regarding sexual assault and intimate partner violence.
  • Participate in regional committees working toward ending sexual and intimate partner violence.
  • Participate in the Social Work Community of Practice Network meetings.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers.
  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of three (3) years current related clinical experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience in working with victims of violence and an understanding of tools used in trauma-focused therapeutic care.
