We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Worker to join our team at Anew Centre for Healing Ltd. As a Child and Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and development of children and youth in our care.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualized support and care to children and youth, including:

  • Assessing and addressing the needs of children and youth
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans
  • Providing emotional support and guidance
  • Facilitating daily living activities and routines
  • Collaborating with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care
Responsibilities:

The Child and Youth Worker will be responsible for:

  • Preparing reports and case histories
  • Performing administrative tasks
  • Assessing client's relevant skill strengths and development needs
  • Conducting follow-up assessments
  • Providing suicide and crisis intervention
  • Resolving conflict situations
  • Supervising activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses
  • Offering mentoring and support
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience working with children and youth, preferably in a group home setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
