Job Title: Managing Director of Academics

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our Scott McCain & Leslie McLean Centre for Sport, Business and Health at Saint Mary's University.

About the Centre

The Scott McCain & Leslie McLean Centre at Saint Mary's University is dedicated to producing, enhancing and delivering research and community outreach initiatives with a focus on socially responsible approaches to sport in the fields of business and health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee regular Centre operations, including strategic planning, reporting, and program evaluation.
  • Manage Centre finances, including budget creation and review.
  • Facilitate Centre participation in activities that align with its mandate.
  • Maintain consistent communication on Centre business and review accuracy of financial statements.
  • Consult with the Academic Director and Senior Management to increase the organization's operations and impact.
  • Supervise employees, collaborators, affiliates, and volunteers.
Requirements
  • A relevant research-based Master's degree with a focus on sport is preferable.
  • Minimum of five years of management or leadership experience.
  • Evidence of an existing network in the sport industry and an understanding of industry trends.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills with a proven commitment to quality assurance and accuracy.
  • Active listener and consensus-builder with an ability to manage and respond to multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
