Job Summary

The Culinary Specialist will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods. This includes preparing dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, inspecting kitchens and food service areas, and training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring high-quality standards and presentation.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Kitchen Management: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization, and train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, and recruit and hire staff as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and manage kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
  • Language: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with physically demanding tasks.
  • Work Schedule: 30 to 44 hours per week.
