Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Woodworking Specialist to join our team at Westwood Finishing & Flooring Ltd. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

Estimated Salary:

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience

The successful candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in the field and a valid driver's licence. The ideal candidate will be willing to travel and have a strong work ethic.

About the Job:

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, reading blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.

You will also be responsible for building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring and erecting walls and roof systems, fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware, and maintaining, repairing and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.

This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to bend, crouch, kneel, handle heavy loads and work with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years of experience in woodworking or a related field.

You must also be able to travel, have a valid driver's licence and be willing to work in various locations.

A combination of sitting, standing and walking is required for this role, as well as the ability to handle heavy loads and work in confined spaces.
