About the Role

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is a key member of the maintenance team at Newmont Inc., responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of heavy mobile equipment. This role is part of the surface mechanical workshop, where the successful candidate will perform periodic maintenance tasks, adhering to established priorities and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain heavy mobile equipment, including surface facilities work
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment at all times
  • Collaborate with the reliability group to develop and implement maintenance procedures
  • Adhere to occupational health and safety protocols and procedures
  • Participate in surface facility occupational health and safety activities
  • Report incidents and accidents to the supervisor
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance
  • Contribute to projects and tests with external stakeholders to improve maintenance work procedures

Requirements

  • College diploma or vocational diploma in heavy mechanics
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver's license

Working Conditions

  • 14 days of work followed by 14 days off
  • Eleonore mine site (Fly-in, Fly-out)
