Job Summary

Mircom Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled and certified Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for performing inspections, service, and installation of fire alarm systems, access control, and intercom systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Installation and Maintenance: Perform rack-up, programming, verification, and inspection of fire alarm systems, access control, and intercom systems, as well as other fire protection equipment.
  • Inspections and Service: Conduct inspections and service on Mircom and non-Mircom products to ensure they are functioning properly and meet industry standards.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Complete and return inspection reports in a timely manner to ensure accurate records and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers as needed to ensure their fire alarm systems are functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Training and Education: Provide operational training to end-users to ensure they understand the proper use and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure our customers and end-users have a positive experience working with Mircom by providing exceptional service and support.
  • Technical Knowledge: Read and understand engineered drawings, specifications, programs, schematics, installation manuals, and service manuals to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
Requirements and Skills
  • Experience: Technicians shall have 3-5 years of experience within the Fire Alarm industry.
  • Education: Electronics diploma or equivalent from accredited college/university or documented and demonstrated trade qualification.
  • Certifications: Technicians shall have Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) Registration or comparable qualification.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 70lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Transportation: Possess a valid and clean motor vehicle license (G License).
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of Mircom systems is an asset, as well as competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
