Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide and coordinate mental health services for children and youth.
  • Complete appropriate nursing assessments to identify mental health concerns and current risks.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and modify nursing care plans based on effectiveness of interventions and/or changes in condition or environment.
  • Provide information and instructions to assist others in understanding the clinical condition, ongoing care, and management.
  • Liaise with other professionals to promote continuity of care and assist families with connecting to a primary care physician.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • A minimum of three to five years of recent pediatric experience in an ambulatory care setting which has included the care and management of children with mental health problems.
  • Must be a member in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta.
