Nursing Role

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our care staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to residents, including medication administration and mentoring unregulated staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive care plans under the direction of the Director of Care or designate, focusing on the physical, psychological, and social needs of residents.
  • Direct and assist care aides in following established procedures to ensure exceptional resident care.
  • Administer, monitor, and record medication administration, educating residents as needed.
  • Create and manage nursing care plans, participating in the evaluation of current and future medical needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care treatments and communicate significant changes to the Health & Wellness Manager or designate and/or the resident's physician.
  • Provide personal care assistance, nursing procedures, and mentorship and coaching of Health Care Aides.
  • Collaborate with residents to meet care requirements and communicate concerns to the doctor and manager as needed.
  • Demonstrate ongoing competence in caring for aging adults, utilizing knowledge, skill, judgment, and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of a Nursing diploma.
  • Registration with the provincial nursing regulatory body and good standing.
  • Experience in a residential care setting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated infection control procedures.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors, and operational partners.
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple resident requests.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to prioritize and problem-solve.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, kneel, and lift 25 pounds.
