Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Paid Media Director to join our team in downtown Toronto. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading a dynamic team of up to 20 paid media experts, driving team strategy, operational efficiency, and marketing effectiveness. You will collaborate closely with Media and Marketing Communications teams to set plans and budgets, develop tests, and integrate digital media into marketing strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media planning and digital marketing, with a minimum of 7 years of experience working in a similar role. You will have solid experience and demonstrated ability in developing and leading strategic media/marketing plans for large multi-media campaigns. You will also have sound experience in managing the fulfillment and interpretation of analytics, modeling, dashboards and KPIs to inform and enhance the effectiveness of media strategies, measurement, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a dynamic team of up to 20 paid media experts, driving team strategy, operational efficiency, and marketing effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with Media and Marketing Communications teams to set plans and budgets, develop tests, and integrate digital media into marketing strategies.
  • Oversee budget management and optimization to ensure maximum ROI, leveraging insights to enhance cross-channel digital marketing performance.
  • Stay current with industry innovations, bringing new opportunities and trends to the table to drive efficiencies and competitive advantages.

Requirements:

Must-Have Skills:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience working in Media Planning and Digital Marketing function at Advertising, Media Agency or Marketing Department.
  • Solid experience and demonstrated ability in developing and leading strategic media/marketing plans for large multi-media campaigns.
  • Sound experience in managing the fulfillment and interpretation of analytics, modeling, dashboards and KPIs to inform and enhance the effectiveness of media strategies, measurement, and reporting.
  • Solid understanding & experience with digital, mobile & social media - understanding trends, terminology & measurement, programmatic & performance marketing.
  • University bachelor's degree.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.

Nice to Have:
  • Experience building & leading processes within a collaborative team environment & managing complex timelines and calendars across multiple campaigns.
  • Experience in driving analytics, modeling, dashboards and KPIs to inform and enhance the effectiveness of media strategies, measurement and reporting.
  • Experience executing marketing plans across multiple channels, with a focus on digital channels.
  • Working knowledge of retail branch and banking channel (ATM, Telephone Banking, Frontline Support) planning and execution.
  • Training or certification in Marketing or Advertising.
  • MBA.
  • Digital Certification (Media/Marketing).
