About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Deciem. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Eastside Production Facility in Etobicoke.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical work.
  • Assist in winter maintenance management, office moving, and event management.
  • Conduct regular checks on facility areas, equipment, and systems, and respond to repair requests.
  • Attend weekly 'Toolbox' meetings for reviewing issues, planning, and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with CMMS assigned work orders, PM, and CM tasks.
  • Respond to CM and RM work order requests and initiate and close work orders in the CMMS.
  • Ensure complete compliance with Daily PM tasks, including verifying the natural gas generator oil/operation, water testing, and daily facility checks.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards in all mechanical rooms.
  • Assist and supervise facility contractors, ensuring compliance with Deciem GMP, Security, Avetta, and HSE policies.

Requirements

  • Experience with drywall, plumbing, painting, and minor electrical and plumbing work.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Working under pressure and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
