About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Foodieez Indian and Hakka Cuisine. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, as well as managing kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, including special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
  • Kitchen Management: Manage kitchen operations, including supervising kitchen staff and helpers, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and cleaning kitchen and work areas.
  • Menu Planning: Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization, as well as requisition food and kitchen supplies.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and provide excellent oral communication to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Teamwork: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and work collaboratively with the team to achieve kitchen goals.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Work Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Work Setting: This position is based in a restaurant environment.
  • Physical Demands: This role requires standing for extended periods, handling heavy loads, and working in a fast-paced environment.
