About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your experience and skills in network administration, system engineering, and Linux operating systems to drive business success. You will collaborate with various internal groups and business units to understand application requirements and provide end-to-end network solutions that meet our firm's standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of network/systems engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure
  • Provide escalation support for service requests and complicated issues
  • Configure and administer core routers, switches, firewalls, and Linux servers
  • Design and implement comprehensive network topologies and IT solutions, create Visio/Lucidchart diagrams, configuration templates, IP addressing, and low-level design documents
  • Write and implement scripts to automate tasks in Linux (Python/Bash/PHP)
  • Manage virtualization environments (Proxmox, Xen, ESXi)
  • Utilize network monitoring tools to identify issues and bottlenecks, and take necessary steps to resolve them
  • Troubleshoot issues from L2 to L4 of the OSI layer
  • Configure and route multicast traffic across the network (PIM, IGMP)
  • Install and maintain servers and network equipment in the Data Center
  • Troubleshoot server hardware and deep tune Linux OS settings for optimal performance

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of IPv4 address designing, deploying, and management
  • In-depth understanding of Routing, Switching, and Network Security with broad industry experience (OSPF, BGP, PIM) on Cisco; Brocade as a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience with large enterprise network environments and Linux system administration, CCNP or equivalent preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst 6500 platform, Nexus switches, TNSR routing platform, and PFsense firewalls
  • Thorough understanding of TCP/IP protocol family and network security technologies
  • Experience designing and building multi-tier DMZ networks with micro and macro segmentation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong presentation skills to explain network design and articulate risk
  • Experience with network data analysis using Wireshark and TCPDump
  • Knowledge of Linux Server administration (CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco network equipment
  • Experienced in configuring multicast nodes and routing multicast traffic
  • Knowledge of Python, Bash, and PHP scripting
