**Job Description**

The Housekeeper reports to the Director of Care and is responsible for general cleaning and sanitation duties of residents’ rooms, common property, utility rooms, bathing rooms, dining rooms, staff rooms, offices, and other areas as assigned.

The successful candidate will ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained throughout the facility, including resident rooms, common areas, and laundry facilities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Cleans, disinfects, vacuums, dusts, washes residents’ rooms and furniture, common areas, and other assigned areas on a scheduled basis.
  • Vacuums carpet and cleans interior windows in resident rooms/suites and common areas as assigned.
  • Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, equipment, beds, and takes linens to the laundry room.
  • Prepares cleaning solutions and utilizes cleaning supplies in accordance with established procedures and safe practices.
  • Ensures furniture is arranged to provide a safe and efficient environment.
  • Checks and restocks laundry supplies as required.
  • Ensures laundry equipment and supplies are used and stored safely and efficiently, reporting any issues to the Director of Care.
  • Adheres to health, safety, and hygiene practices/procedures and assists in maintaining quality assurance standards.
  • Maintains current knowledge of and complies with Bria policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all WHMIS requirements.
  • Performs terminal cleaning duties upon vacancies.

**Salary & Benefits**

The estimated annual salary for this position is $31,480 (based on 40 hours/week at $23.38/hour), plus benefits, including:

**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Minimum of Grade 10 education or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Institutional certificate an asset
  • Knowledge about the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment required
