We are a leading childcare provider in Western Canada, offering high-quality programs for children aged 0-5 years old.

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Childcare Specialist to join our team at Edgehill YMCA Child Care in Powell River. This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours per week, with rotating shifts between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is $23.20 per hour for Early Childhood Educators with a license, plus an additional $6 per hour for licensed ECEs under the Provincial Government's Wage Enhancement Initiative. Alternatively, Early Childhood Educator Assistants will be paid $21.61 per hour.

Responsibilities

- Provide quality care and creative programming to children aged 0-5 years old

- Build meaningful relationships with children and families

- Collaborate with colleagues to create a safe and engaging environment

- Deliver high-quality programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

- Basic ECE or ECEA certification from a recognized program in British Columbia

- Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) License and Special Needs Educator (SNE) License are assets

- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Emergency First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required
