About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Technician to join our team at Platinum Railing Awning & Metal Works Ltd. In this role, you will be responsible for operating metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess material from surfaces of metal products
  • Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions to achieve desired finish
  • Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, and metal machine operators in their tasks
  • Sort and organize metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials
  • Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools to prepare them for further processing
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
  • Loading and unloading vehicles as needed
  • Polishing metal products to mirror finish according to customer specifications
  • Reading and interpreting work orders to understand project requirements
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • 1-6 months of experience in metal fabrication or a related field
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor
  • Basic knowledge of metalworking processes and tools
Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $40,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on location and experience. This figure is based on industry standards and takes into account the level of skill and responsibility required for the position.

Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position with 35-40 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
