Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer

The Canada China Business Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer to lead its operations and activities. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Toronto, with responsibility for all offices and chapters in Canada and China.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee the CCBC team at the corporate office in Toronto and the Council's seven chapters in Canada and China.
  • Develop and implement programs and events that support corporate members in expanding and deepening their Canada-China business.
  • Draft policy documents on various policy issues for the Board, members, and government departments.
  • Liaise with Chinese sister organizations and maintain a strong network/market presence.
Requirements:
  • Minimum ten years of senior management experience.
  • Master's degree in finance, business administration, or a relevant field.
  • Strong strategic planning, financial management, and organizational leadership skills.
  • Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and resource development.
  • Proficiency in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Cultural understanding and language skills, with a strong understanding of Canadian and Chinese business cultures, history, and Canada-China relations.
  • Native-level spoken and written English, with Mandarin skills a definite asset.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with a demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Great team player, able to work with remote management and colleagues across multiple cities.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
