Job Description

At RailWorks, we are seeking a seasoned Senior Construction Project Manager to lead our rail infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meeting the highest quality standards.

We are looking for a highly skilled project manager with extensive experience in heavy civil construction, who can effectively manage teams, communicate with stakeholders, and navigate complex contractual arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate high-performing project teams, ensuring they have the necessary skills, training, and support to deliver exceptional results.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Contract Administration: Interpret and apply contract terms, conditions, and specifications to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management.
  • Experience: 6-10 years of relevant project management experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Professional Designations: Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
  • Track Record: Demonstrated ability to plan and execute projects on schedule and within budget, with a proven track record of success.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership abilities, with experience in motivating and guiding high-performing teams.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in presenting complex information to various audiences.
  • Contract Knowledge: Strong understanding of contract law and language, with experience in interpreting and applying contract terms.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Work Environment: Works indoors and outdoors, with frequent travel to project sites across the GTA.
  • Physical Demands: Frequently sits, stands, walks, reads, writes, and uses a computer keyboard.
