About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team at Jay Patry Enterprises LLC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in residential renovations and building maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Estimates and Plans
    • Develop detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Site Preparation and Construction
    • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
    • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
    • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Installation and Finishing
    • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
    • Supervise and instruct apprentices and other workers on site
  • Project Management
    • Schedule and coordinate work on sites to ensure timely completion of projects
    • Estimate costs and materials for projects
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the field
  • Skills and Certifications
    • Personal protective equipment (PPE) training
    • Working at heights training
    • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a physically demanding environment
  • Equipment and Machinery
    • Experience with hand tools and ability to operate equipment safely
  • Transportation and Travel
    • Public transportation is available
