About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled EHS Specialist to join our team in Windsor, ON. This role will involve providing technical and regulatory knowledge to ensure occupational health, safety, environmental, and security compliance at the assigned location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing technical support to various departments on identified EHS issues, recommendations, and initiatives to ensure compliance with standards and foster a positive EHS culture.
  • Assisting with the implementation of corporate standardized EHS policies and procedures, including Safe Work Permits, Job Safety Analysis, Management of Change, Incident Investigation, Ergonomics, WHMIS, HIRA-Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.
  • Participating in elements of management of change reviews consistent with the level of environmental, industrial hygiene, and safety support needed.
  • Supporting emergency response activities through drills, critiques, training, and Emergency Response Team participation, as required.
  • Conducting training and presentations on EHS topics.
  • Participating in incident investigations and root causing.
  • Supporting the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and their related activities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Diploma or degree in Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of EHS experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Technician (CRST) certification would be an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, and MS-Teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interact with provincial and federal regulatory agencies.
What We Offer

BASF Canada Inc. offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, life insurance, and retirement savings plan.
