Position Overview:

We are looking for a Project Engineer specializing in Mechanical Engineering to enhance our team. This role involves engaging in various projects that contribute to sustainable engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Your contributions will include:

  1. Developing mechanical HVAC and plumbing designs for a diverse range of clients.
  2. Participating in low carbon electrification initiatives, utilizing heat pumps for waste heat recovery.
  3. Designing district energy systems that leverage renewable resources for community heating and cooling.
  4. Conducting energy audits and GHG reduction assessments for existing structures.
  5. Providing HVAC and plumbing consultancy to other teams as needed.
  6. Implementing HVAC upgrades and energy modeling tasks.

Daily Activities:

As a Project Engineer, your day will involve:

  • Conducting engineering designs, reviews, and inspections across various facility types.
  • Monitoring and reporting on system performance.
  • Preparing cost estimates and detailed reports.
  • Assisting in proposal development and maintaining client relationships.
  • Promoting continuous improvement through professional development.
  • Conducting feasibility studies for renewable energy projects.
  • Mentoring junior engineers in HVAC and plumbing design.
  • Engaging with potential clients to showcase our capabilities.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. A degree in Mechanical Engineering and a P.Eng. designation; additional certifications like LEED or CEM are advantageous.
  2. Experience in energy audits and energy efficiency evaluations.
  3. A minimum of 5 years in consulting engineering.
  4. Expertise in HVAC design, particularly in retrofit and hydronic systems.
  5. Familiarity with plumbing and fire protection design is a plus.
  6. Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of AutoCAD and energy modeling software.
  8. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
