Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at ALMAG Aluminum Corp. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced electrician to work in a manufacturing environment, utilizing their skills and knowledge to maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment.

About the Role
  • As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining all electrical, instrumentation controls, and plant equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
  • You will work with minimal supervision in a safe manner, maintaining a clean and orderly shop.
  • You will respond to breakdowns immediately and/or provide communication for repairs.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Accountable for all Electrical, Instrumentation Controls and plant equipment maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.
  2. Safety and Shop Maintenance: Work with minimal supervision in a safe manner maintaining a clean and orderly shop.
  3. Breakdown Response: Respond to break-downs immediately and/or provide communication for repairs.
  4. Training and Knowledge Sharing: Openly share knowledge and train teammates on equipment functionality and history, procedures, and drawing markups.
  5. Equipment Optimization: Troubleshoot and optimize various drives and instrumentation devices such as encoders, transducers and thermocouples within a PLC control circuit.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Hold a valid 442a or 309 electricians license.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a Licensed Electrician.
  • Skills and Qualifications: High energy level, good creativity, self-confidence, time management and must be a team player.
  • Technical Skills: Experience troubleshooting and working with Allen Bradley PLCs, ability to read and work with electrical and mechanical drawings, demonstrated comfort working with the Electrical Safety Code, working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical controls and PLCs, and experience with welding and fabrication is considered a strong asset.
