At Toromont Cat, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Thunder Bay or nearby areas. As a key member of our shop team, you will be responsible for servicing a particular line of Caterpillar equipment and components. Your day will include planning, troubleshooting, and repairing, as well as preparing necessary service reports for customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound, and healthy work behaviors at all times.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment.
  • Repair and service Caterpillar and all heavy equipment within established standards.
  • Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations through frequent communication.
  • Undertake assignments as required to support customer needs.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a field related to heavy equipment mechanics, truck and coach mechanics, diesel engine mechanics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience as a technician on heavy equipment.
  • 421A or 310T license.
