About Our Opportunity: An exciting opportunity exists in our Finance department within the Metals division for an Accounting Clerk located in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The purpose of this position is to record day-to-day transactional accounting activities and support all business units in achieving their financial targets and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and perform the treasury function for the Fort Saskatchewan site including monthly bank reconciliations, disbursements, cash receipts, signatory management, liaison with Corporate Treasury regarding foreign banking requirements and related accounting needs.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory tax payments including corporate tax instalments, as well as GST, as prescribed by the Corporate Tax Group.
- Provide backup support primarily for the AP clerks, as well as various positions within the accounting team as required.
- Support the Manager, Accounting on various continuous improvement and growth initiatives.
- Represent Finance and provide support for Fort Site Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Ensure the integrity and stability of the Joint Venture (JV) by adhering to JV Agreements and maintaining consistent monthly transfers for products and services between the JV and shareholders in line with these agreements.
- Support the enhancement and management of accounting systems and internal controls to ensure the fiscal integrity of the business, while continually optimizing the Fort Site's control environment.
