Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a skilled Building Operator to join our Facilities Maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine property and site inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Perform preventive and demand maintenance tasks, including chemical treatment maintenance, filter changes, and equipment repairs.
  • Inspect, operate, and maintain boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, generators, and other building systems.
  • Monitor electrical power distribution systems and respond to alarms in a timely and methodical manner.
  • Perform minor repairs and ensure maximum energy efficiency.
  • Ensure all equipment is operated safely and efficiently, and in compliance with applicable government codes and regulations.
  • Assist with outdoor grounds keeping, including grass cutting, landscaping, and snow removal.

Education Requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical systems, and Building Automation Systems.
  • Building Environment System certificate or a trade license (BES 1 and/or 2).
Work Experience Requirements
  • Building Operator with 3-5 years' facilities maintenance and operations experience.
  • Strong technical capabilities in building systems and equipment.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills in ensuring client requests are responded to professionally and promptly.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and/or at heights.
  • Bending and lifting (under 30kg) required.
  • Valid G driver's license is required.
  • Must obtain and maintain necessary security clearance.
