The IT Specialist is an integral part of the IT team at the University of Guelph. This role involves providing expert-level support for desktop infrastructure, automation, and systems management tools.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement operating system images for deployment across multiple platforms
  • Package and deploy software using systems management software
  • Work with LDAP and Active Directory for user, computer, and group policy management
  • Create automation scripts with Bash, PowerShell, or other languages
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve audio/visual issues and coordinate A/V for major events
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science/Information Technology and 3 years' experience in desktop infrastructure and system administration
  • Linux or Windows certifications such as LPIC-1, RHCSA, MCSE, or equivalents
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a small team
