Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team at McCain Foods (Canada). As a Laborer, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the production process, including determining the total weight of samples, processing samples, and recording data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sample Processing: Determine the total weight of two samples collected from potato trucks using a weigh scale, then wash samples to ensure nothing is lost and take washed samples to potato graders with the total weight.
- Record Keeping: Process samples and record sample data such as tuber count, average length, average width, and colour sampling.
- Compliance: Comply with HACCP rules and regulations, and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
- Teamwork: Attend team meetings as required and work collaboratively with other team members.
- Safety: Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE's) at all times.
Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12 or GED would be considered an asset.
- Experience: Previous experience in all aspects of Potato Grader/Laborer would be considered an asset.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, and ability to work shifts on a rotating basis.
- Physical Demands: Physically capable of performing all job duties, including lifting approximately 35 lbs as required.
