About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Apprentice Machinist to join our team at Steelserv Corp. As an Apprentice Machinist, you will play a crucial role in the production process, working closely with our experienced machinists to ensure the highest quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Production
    • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to understand production requirements.
  • Production
    • Set up and adjust production machinery and tools to meet production needs.
    • Fabricate and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance, ensuring precision and quality.
    • Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Quality Control
    • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers.
    • Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to produce high-quality products.
    • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • Will train and develop skills in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
    • Repetitive tasks and physically demanding work.
    • Standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability
    • Accurate and dependable with efficient interpersonal skills.
    • Flexible and able to work in a team environment.
    • Quick learner with a strong attention to detail.
Work Environment
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Work Language: English.
