Key Responsibilities- Nurture, guide, and care for children in a safe and inclusive environment.
- Foster a strong sense of belonging, inclusion, and collaboration among children, families, and staff.
- Create a welcoming, engaging, and flexible play-based learning environment that promotes healthy play and development.
- Plan, implement, document, and evaluate emergent curriculum that reflects the individual and group interests and needs of children and families.
- Provide for the health, safety, and emotional well-being of children.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Lead teams, supervise Early Childhood Education (ECE) professionals, and uphold agency-wide policies and procedures.
- Licenses and Certifications: ECE Infant/Toddler, Childcare First Aid, Food Safe.
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in a licensed childcare centre with infant and toddlers.
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including excellent oral and written communication.
- Strong knowledge and awareness of child development, BC's Early Learning Framework, and emergent curriculum approaches.
- Knowledge of leadership strategies, group process, facilitation techniques, and team building.
- Knowledge of supports and resources for families and children with extra support needs.
- Knowledge of the broader childcare field and its role in the community.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and demonstrate good judgment.
- Functional computer literacy in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Special Needs Certificate and License.
- A Second Language.
- Post-secondary education in a related field.
- Permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week).
- Salary: $33.33 per hour plus benefits.
- Starting: As soon as possible.
- Location: The Mark (Toddler and 3-5 programs).
