Drywall Installation Job Description

Chandigarh Construction Inc. is seeking a skilled Drywall Specialist to join our team. As a Drywall Specialist, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall sheets, applying successive coats of compound, and sanding seams and joints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate with other workers to ensure efficient installation and finishing of drywall.
  • Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to ensure proper fit and alignment.
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation and finishing.
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure proper drying and setting.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems to design and plan drywall installations.
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
  • Permanent employment with 35 hours per week.
  • Language of work: English.
