Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Helper to join our team at Balmoral Renovation. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for assisting in various aspects of construction projects, including loading and unloading materials, cleaning and lubricating equipment, and erecting and dismantling scaffolding and other structures.

Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Clean and lubricate cranes and other heavy equipment
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on construction techniques
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
  • Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Pave and rake asphalt
  • Assist in demolishing buildings
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding role
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work overtime as required
Work Environment

Our construction sites are located outdoors, and you will be required to work in a noisy, dusty environment. You will be expected to relocate to various sites as required and will not be reimbursed for relocation costs.

Language and Work Hours

This is a permanent position, and you will be required to work 35 hours per week. The primary language spoken in the workplace is English.
