Job Title: Support Staff - Education Assistant

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated individual to join our team as a Casual Education Assistant at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Separate School Division.

Job Summary:

The Casual Education Assistant will provide support to students with various degrees of need in the learning environment, under the direction and supervision of the inclusive education liaison, the classroom teacher, and the principal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with special programming needs in the learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, principals, and other support staff to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Provide physical support to students as needed, including lifting, transferring, and positioning
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Education Assistant Certificate and/or Diploma or equivalent
  • At least one (1) year experience working with students with special programming needs
  • First Aid Training
  • Supporting Individuals Through Valued Attachments Training (SIVA) Certificate
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
