Program Overview
The Nursing Practitioner program is designed to provide individuals with the opportunity to gain the experience and skills needed to practice nursing in Ontario. Through this program, you will have the chance to work in a variety of clinical settings, including in-patient departments, and gain experience in specialty areas such as ICU, ED, and Post-partum.
Qualifications
- Must be registered in the non-practicing Registered Nurse (RN) class
- Have their SPE approved by the CNO before commencing the experience
- Hold professional liability protection according to the CNO's by-laws
- Practice under the supervision of a nurse in the appropriate category or class of registration
- Successfully complete the program within 6 months
- Successfully complete a minimum of 140 hours where you will apply your nursing knowledge, skill, and judgment and demonstrate an understanding of your nursing accountabilities (CNO practice standards)
- Be available to work in an in-patient unit at any of our 3 hospital sites - Oakville, Milton, Georgetown
