Job Summary

As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering excellent nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care.
  • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care.
  • Ensure timely and accessible admissions, comprehensive orientations, and safe resident transfers and discharges.
  • Manage the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, adhering to protocols on all assigned shifts.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the needs of our residents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and the Health Disciplines Act.
  • Medical Clearance, including TB tests, and a Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
