Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Microbiology Technician to join our team in Markham, ON. As a trusted partner in the food industry, our Public Health mission is to make food systems safer, healthier, and more sustainable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct microbiological testing and analysis of biological samples
  • Record and verify findings on worksheets
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance tasks
  • Collaborate with laboratory management to implement and maintain laboratory management systems
Requirements

Associate's degree or equivalent work experience and 1+ year relevant work experience. Basic knowledge of microbiology, laboratory safety procedures, and personal computers. Planning skills and analytical skills are essential for this role.

Work Environment

The incumbent works in a laboratory setting with proper lighting and temperature control. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials may occur. Safety equipment such as gloves, laboratory coat, and eyeglasses may be required.
