Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care for patients within an interprofessional environment, including assessment, treatment, teaching, and education.
- Teach and coach patients and families to promote health and well-being.
- Commit to a healthy, safe, and respectful workplace.
- Practice in compliance with provincial legislation, hospital policies, and procedures; professional regulatory standards; and best practices within the nursing profession.
- Maintain professional competence by completing regular professional development.
- Graduate of a recognized college or school of nursing.
- Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or currently meet the eligibility criteria to register in good standing in the Temporary Class or General Class with the CNO.
- Able to function to the full scope of practice as per CNO.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Experience in caring for patients with complex medical needs, including those requiring telemetry monitoring and geriatric patients.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Meditech and/or Sunrise Clinical Manager clinical application systems.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of two years acute care medical/surgical experience.
- Completion of a physical assessment course.
- Experience working with patients and families to provide educational teaching.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
