Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting Assistant. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our Controller to review and update accounting and payroll processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and review accounting and payroll related procedures and update process manuals.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating accounts receivable, rent collection, trust disbursements, accounts payable, and cash and cheques deposits processes.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating accounting standard operating procedures.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must be enrolled in a post-secondary accounting program and attending school (3 classes or more) while working. Ideally, you have completed the 1st year of a recognized Accounting Program. You must also be able to provide or obtain WHIMIS certification and Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Clearance.
