We are a reputable stucco company seeking an experienced and skilled Stucco Finisher to join our team. As a Stucco Finisher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of work on our commercial projects.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires a high level of physical fitness, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying, levelling and smoothing coats of plaster, as well as curing freshly plastered surfaces. You will also be required to finish corners and angles, create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required, and mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required
  • Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the trade
  • Ability to work at heights, in dusty and noisy environments
  • Excellent hand-eye co-ordination and manual dexterity
  • Physically demanding job requiring bending, crouching, kneeling and standing for extended periods
  • Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Up to 45 kg (100 lbs) weight handling capability
