We are seeking a highly skilled software professional to join our team as a Software Engineer at Fuze HR Solutions in Mississauga, ON.

Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Software Engineer with experience in control systems and automation to design, implement, and test software applications for naval systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all work is performed according to the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Designing, developing, and maintaining computer system software in accordance with approved software design documents for inclusion into military products.
- Translating functional specifications into defined software capabilities.
- Updating and maintaining bug tracking repository to summarize design and code status, and software user manuals.
- Keeping abreast of state-of-the-art software systems to advance programming techniques and develop improved programming efficiency.
- Providing in-field support with some travel required.
- Following every reasonable precaution to ensure work is performed following Health & Safety procedures and reporting accidents and incidents immediately.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- 5+ years of full development life cycle experience through test and development and cross-platform skills.
- Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems, particularly VxWorks and Linux.
- Proficiency in C language.
- Experience with control systems software design.
- Exposure to servo drive applications.
- Familiarity with software revision control.
- Ability to communicate technical solutions to project management and the rest of the development team.
- Skills to help define requirements for complex naval systems.
- Ability to create functional specifications by decomposing high-level requirements into defined capabilities.
- Development and update of Software Requirements Description (SRD), Software Design Descriptions (SDD), and Software Test Plans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Work History
A Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent is required. You must also have 5 years of checkable work history with no gaps and have been present in Canada for a minimum of 5 years.
