Your Opportunity:

The Alberta Health Services is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Gastroenterology/IBD department. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and gastroenterology conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide information, education, and counseling to empower patients to make informed decisions and take an active role in their care.
  • Offer in-patient consultation and rapid access appointments for patients with disease exacerbations or complications.
  • Conduct follow-up appointments for stable patients and monitor medication adherence.
  • Support prescribing and monitoring of medications, as well as ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Nurse Practitioner studies.
  • Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • Additional education and certifications specific to gastroenterology and IBD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialization in gastroenterology and IBD.
  • Previous experience working with patients with IBD and gastroenterology conditions.
