Senior Risk Services Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Risk Services Consultant to join our team at Wawanesa. As a key member of our risk services team, you will play a critical role in delivering meaningful loss prevention advice to our members, while gathering and reporting detailed field-level information on insured buildings, hazards, and operations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct onsite risk assessment consultations with Wawanesa members and prospects, maintaining expected performance standards and adhering to Risk Services Team Guidelines.
- Complete detailed reporting within the LC360 Inspection Management Platform, clearly articulating onsite common and special hazards and controls observed, while offering useful recommendations to assist in the prevention of insurable loss.
- Measure buildings and complete accurate replacement cost estimates on company-supported insurance to value appraisal platforms.
- Conduct infrared surveys and analyze findings as part of the risk consultation process, utilizing company-supported software when necessary.
- Work with your supervisor, underwriters, brokers, and members to support completed field surveys.
- Stay current with the latest risk services/prevention techniques and trends through courses, seminars, and industry associations.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in risk services/loss control/prevention or a related field.
- Post-secondary education and/or industry-specific experience in loss control, engineering technology, trades, safety management, property management, or building inspections, insurance, risk management, occupational/industrial safety and health.
- Strong knowledge of building construction types and materials, common and special hazards, and fire protection systems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate and present at the right level for the audience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct detailed analysis of information and select and implement best solutions in a timely manner.
- Ability and willingness to travel, with working conditions that may include exposure to outdoor weather, environmental hazards, noise, dust, chemicals, animals/livestock, working alone, etc.
- Level I or Level II Infrared Thermography certification from a recognized training facility is preferred; training may be available.
- Completion of CIP, CRM, or equivalent Property and Casualty industry designation is considered an asset.
