Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex purchasing functions, including contract negotiations and vendor evaluation
  • Provide advice and guidance to departmental clients on purchasing issues
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet business needs
  • Supervise and train subordinate buyers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective procurement processes

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Grade 12 diploma supplemented by a purchasing certification or equivalent
  • Considerable related purchasing experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A valid Driver's Licence for the Province of British Columbia
